Head of Procurement – 12 month FTC

£50000 to £60000 per annum + benefits + pension

Our client a global financial administration company looking to recruit a Head of Procurement on a 12 month FTC basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement professional to manage a team and work alongside key stakeholders within the UCI region. In this role you will be required to define and implement a procurement strategy for all supplier expenditure (excluding Technology) of circa £100m. Within the role you will will be responsible for collaborating with teams across the UCI region to ensure a consistent approach to building strategic relationships with suppliers that will drive long term value for the group.

In addition, the role is responsible for defining and implementing the supplier due diligence, contract management and supplier relationship management frameworks within the region.

Key Responsbilities:

  • Define, implement and review a procurement strategy (including policies, standards, procedures and frameworks to underpin the delivery)
  • Define and implement the supplier due diligence, contract management and supplier relationship management methodologies
  • Proactively support internal stakeholders to commercially manage existing and new supplier relationships
  • Lead end-to-end high value or complex procurement exercises and manage all associated supplier relations effectively
  • Proactively consolidate and rationalise supplier contracts to reduce spend
  • Maintain governance, risk and regulatory requirements and mitigate company risk exposure
  • Lead, develop and engage the Procurement team
  • Contribute to company-wide projects acting as the Procurement subject matter expert

Essential skills, experience and competencies:

  • Significant experience of setting the strategic direction of a procurement team
  • Strategic negotiator able to lead RFP processes and drive down cost, maintain quality and service levels
  • Experience in embedding supplier due diligence, contract management and SRM
  • Proven end to end supply chain / procurement management
  • Expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, implementation of SLA’s, engagement and management of all supplier levels, and KPI reporting
  • Commercially minded with knowledge of procurement agreements, warranties and frameworks
  • Level 5 CIPS qualified and or honours graduate or equivalent strategic experience
  • Delivered lean principals and leading innovation
  • Experience in managing a procurement team
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
